Mighty Thunder Wins At Musselburgh

Mighty Thunder showed his liking for a sound surface when making all and winning the three mile handicap hurdle at Musselburgh this afternoon. Jumping particularly well he was swift at his hurdles and Blair dominated the race with his positive ride. Just a six year old Mighty will probably be aimed at more staying hurdles round here and we may look at a Pertemps qualifier for him.

Order Of Thistle needs to brush up his hurdling but he ran a solid race in third in the novice hurdle. He has had a busy few months and will improve for a little break now.

Balranald also ran well to just flatten out after losing his momentum avoiding a faller; he may be back here next month. Our others were not so exciting; Gemologist ran a rare flat race on ground that was a bit tacky for her, Izzys Champion failed to jump as well as last time and we will check him over physically in the morning. Prince Dundee will also have a full overhaul after making a mistake at the second then losing his action on the stables bend, as will Effet Special who hung and was pulled up when his chance had gone. The Road Home also ran flat, not travelling as he did last month.
